DENTON, Texas — The UNT women's basketball team will look to remain among the conference leaders when it takes on Florida Atlantic Saturday at 1 p.m. CT in Boca Raton.
The Mean Green (14-5) sit in a tie for second place with Temple at 6-1 in AAC play, only trailing UTSA, who is undefeated at 8-0. North Texas enters Saturday's contest riding a three-game win streak coming off wins against South Florida, Rice and Wichita State during a recent home stand.
On the flip side, FAU (9-11, 1-6 AAC) has lost its last five games, including a 75-68 loss to Charlotte on Wednesday. The Owls are led by guard Mya Perry, who averages 15.8 points per game and has scored in double figures in 17 of 20 games this season.
A win over FAU would mark UNT's second consecutive season starting 7-1 in conference play, a feat that had only been done once prior to Jason Burton's arrival. The Mean Green can also clinch the program's 600th win with a victory.
