UNT Takes Second Loss of Season at Houston
Houston, Texas — The UNT women's tennis team fell 4-0 to Houston at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility Friday.
Houston (2-0) picked up the doubles point with wins at lines one, 6-1, and three, 6-2. The duo of Lilly Schultz and Stanislava Shulzhenko won at line two 6-2 for the Mean Green's only match win of the day in their first pairing of the season.
The Cougars took wins at lines one 6-3, 6-3, four 6-1, 6-4 and five 6-2, 6-4 in singles play to complete the sweep.
Before the match was called, Stadfany Nformi won the first set at line two 6-1 and Carolina Laydner won the second set 6-2 at line six.
Next up, UNT (3-2) heads to Louisiana, taking on LA Tech at 11 a.m. in Ruston Feb. 8 and Northwestern State Feb. 9 at 11 a.m in Natchitoches.
