
Tennis Set For Weekend in Louisiana

North Texas faces LA Tech and Northwestern State on the road
DENTON — The UNT women's tennis team travels to Louisiana Saturday and Sunday as they take on Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State.
North Texas (3-2) enters the weekend after losing to Houston 4-0 on Jan. 31.
In the defeat, the Mean Green picked up a doubles match win with a first-time pairing of Lilly Schultz and Stanislava Shulzhenko, who took a 6-2 win at line two.
Schultz improved to 3-1 overall in doubles with the win while Shulzhenko sits at 2-3.
UNT starts the weekend Saturday with a matchup versus Louisiana Tech (6-2) who are in the midst of a five-match winning streak.
The Bulldogs are led by Zoie Epps who has yet to fall in singles play this season with an 8-0 record.
Notably, Saturday will be the first time UNT head coach Amanda Stone returns to Ruston, La.after leading LA Tech to an 89-69 record over the course of the seven seasons she led the program from 2016-23.
Northwestern State (0-2) enters Sunday seeking its first win of the season.
The Lady Demons finished 11-9 last season and made it to the second round of the Southland Conference tournament before losing to McNeese.
