
Mean Green Ready for Key Florida Swing

DENTON - The UNT soccer team will embark on a Florida swing this week as the regular season winds down with three matches remaining on the schedule and the Mean Green fight to get into the American Championship.
UNT (5-9-3, 1-4-2) is coming off two straight draws with Tulsa and Rice and will face a South Florida team looking to solidify its spot in the tournament on Thursday night before a match Sunday at Florida Atlantic (4-9-3, 1-4-2) against an Owls squad tied with UNT heading into the week.
South Florida (7-7-1, 3-3-1) is coming off a 2-1 win over Charlotte on Sunday that moved them to 10 points in the conference standings, while UNT is sitting at 5 points. The teams will meet on Thursday at Tampa's Corbett Stadium at 6 p.m. Sunday's match at FAU is at noon, and both will be broadcast on ESPN+.
UNT is 0-3-0 all-time against South Florida, with two losses coming in as many weeks last season, including a loss in the conference tournament. The Mean Green are 13-5-1 all-time against FAU, with the teams' last meeting in Boca Raton ending in a 1-1 draw.
