Fouonji, Mitchell Earn Conference Honors

IRVING, Texas – Two UNT volleyball players won All-American Conference honors as voted on by the league's head coaches, the conference announced Thursday.

Junior middle blocker Loredana Fouonji was named second team all-conference while libero Dakota Mitchell was honored as a member of the league's all-freshman team.

Fouonji leads the American with 121 total blocks over 100 sets played for 1.21 blocks per set, a mark which also leads the league. She enters the weekend ranked eighth in UNT history for total blocks in a single season in the modern scoring era, only four behind Karissa Flack (2012) for fifth place at 125. She is the 50th all-conference selection in program history and first since Sh'Diamond Holly (2022-23) collected American first-team honors as a senior in 2023.

Mitchell is the ninth all-freshman team selection in program history and second in as many years after teammate Ryann Vik was awarded by the American last season. In her first season, Mitchell recorded 382 digs over 111 sets played for 3.44 digs per set which ranks ninth in the league.
