The Mean Green will be back at home Wednesday, Dec. 3 vs. Oklahoma State
FRISCO, Texas – The UNT women's basketball team dropped to 5-2 on the season with a 67-47 loss to undefeated Texas Tech on Thursday at the Comerica Center in Frisco.
The matchup with the Lady Raiders, who are receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25, was the first meeting for the programs since 2001.
It was an uphill climb the entire game for the Mean Green who trailed for 38 minutes. An early push in the third quarter cut Texas Tech's lead to 30-27, but the Lady Raiders responded with a 10-0 run of their own to take a comfortable advantage into the fourth.
Megan Nestor recorded 14 points to go along with nine rebounds, nearly capturing her fourth double double of the year. Aysia Proctor and Andi Schissler joined her in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Texas Tech's Bailey Maupin led all players with 22 points.
The Mean Green will return to The Super Pit for their next game Wednesday, Dec. 3 against No. 24 Oklahoma State with tipoff set for 6 p.m. CT.
