DENTON, Texas – The UNT women's basketball team is set to host Texas Southern Saturday at 2 p.m. CT inside The Super Pit, looking to return to the win column following a pair of losses to Big 12 teams.
The Mean Green (5-3) are coming off a challenging four-game stretch that consisted of three matchups with Power Four opponents. UNT won the first two in dramatic fashion against SMU and Saint Mary's before dropping contests to Texas Tech and No. 24 Oklahoma State.
Texas Southern will enter Saturday's game with a 3-3 record fresh off a week-long break after playing in the Resorts World Classic in Las Vegas. The Lady Tigers are one of the best rebounding teams in the country, averaging 47 boards per game, including 17 offensive rebounds per game.
It will be the second straight season the teams have met after North Texas won 78-54 behind a 20-point outing from Jaaucklyn Moore on Nov. 7, 2024. UNT has won the last four meetings in the series.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Kyle Youmans and Brian Burton on the call. It can also be heard on the Varsity Network app with Sam Kaman.
