North Texas defeated ORU 4-0 Friday
DENTON — The UNT women's tennis team swept Oral Roberts 4-0 Friday at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
North Texas (5-3) returned home for the first time since January and improved to 3-0 on the season when playing at Waranch.
"I'm really happy with the steps we took today, we've been really focusing on playing hard no matter what and stepping up for the team in every situation," UNT head coach Amanda Stone said. "I feel like today we were focused — I don't feel like we were looking for things outside of what we were supposed to be doing."
The Mean Green took the doubles point with wins at lines one and line three.
Stadfany Nformi and Olivia Malm picked up a 6-3 win at line one shortly before Lou Chalard and Gianna Pielet secured the doubles point for UNT with a 6-4 win at line three.
Lou Chalard took the first win of singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at line five giving the Mean Green a 2-0 lead. Chalard improved to a team-leading 7-1 record in singles play with the victory.
Lilly Schultz then picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at line six just prior to a 6-0, 6-3 victory at line four by Malm, which clinched victory for UNT as the match was not played out.
