Swim & Dive Set for AAC Championship

DALLAS - The UNT swimming and diving program will begin competition at the American Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday, with action every day through Saturday to open the postseason at SMU's Robson & Lindley Aquatic Center.
The Mean Green will take on East Carolina, FAU, FIU, Rice and Tulane in the four-day championships with designs on finishing in the top half of the field after a strong regular season with seven dual meet wins, including one over championship favorite Rice.
UNT has set five new program records this season in addition to three new facility records in the Pohl Recreation Center pool, and have had numerous strong performances leading up to the postseason.
"I'm excited for the week," said associate head coach/diving coach Stephanie O'Callaghan. "We have prepared and now it's time to execute. All year, the strength of this team has been their cohesiveness and chemistry. We have so much individual talent; they each have different strengths and bring something important and unique to the team. I'm proud of their efforts this year and excited to see what the week brings us."
A meet schedule follows, and admission for fans this year is free.
