2/28/2025 10:09:00 AM | Women's Basketball
DENTON, Texas — The UNT women's basketball team (21-7, 13-3 AAC) will look to defend its home court on Senior Day when it takes on UAB Saturday at 2 p.m. CT in The Super Pit.
The Mean Green will honor five members of the program prior to tip off, including Amaya Brannon, Aniyah Johnson, Jaaucklyn Moore, Tommisha Lampkin and student manager, Jackson Davis. The Senior Day ceremony will begin at 1:45 p.m. before tip-off against the Blazers.
North Texas will look to cap off what has been an impressive season at home, having won 14 of 15 games at The Super Pit thus far. A win on Saturday would extend UNT's home winning streak against conference opponent to 11 games dating back to last season, which would tie the longest streak in program history.
Sitting in a tie for second place in the AAC standings at 13-3, UNT can also set a program record for conference wins in a season Saturday. It would mark the second consecutive season breaking that record after the Mean Green went 13-5 last year that resulted in a conference championship.
UAB will arrive in Denton following a 73-48 loss at Rice on Tuesday. The Blazers have dropped their last four games and sit at 15-13 overall and 6-10 in league play.
Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Kyle Youmans and Brian Burton on the call. It can also be heard on the Varsity Network App with Zac Babb.
