Tennis Set to Open Conference Play in San Antonio

North Texas takes on UTSA on Saturday morning in its American opener
DENTON — The UNT women's tennis team faces No. 68 UTSA at 10 a.m. as the Mean Green open American Athletic Conference play in San Antonio.
North Texas (5-5) enters the match on a two-game skid after being defeated by North Florida and FIU in Miami, Fla. on Feb. 22-23.
In those losses, the Mean Green saw Stanislava Shulzhenko improve to 6-1 in singles on the season. Shulzhenko leads the team with one loss in singles play.
UNT holistically has seen positive performances in singles, posting a 32-19 record, good for a .627 winning percentage.
UTSA (13-1, 1-1) comes into Saturday having already started American play and split their first two matches. The Roadrunners defeated South Florida Feb. 21 before falling to Tulane the following day.
Last matchup between UTSA and North Texas saw the Mean Green upset the at-the-time No. 70 ranked Roadrunners 4-1 in Denton.
