Women's Basketball Earns WNIT Berth

The Mean Green will play the winner of UTA and UIW in the second round
DENTON, Texas — UNT women's basketball will make its second consecutive postseason appearance after accepting an Invitation to the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
The Mean Green received a first-round bye and will play the winner of UT Arlington and Incarnate Word who will meet in the first round on Thursday, March 20. The details for the second-round matchup, including date, location and time, will be determined at a later date.
North Texas has won a school record 24 games this season and put together a 15-3 mark in American Athletic Conference play. The Mean Green advanced to the AAC Championship semifinals.
It marks the seventh postseason appearance overall for the program and the fourth appearance in the WNIT. North Texas last played in the tournament to cap off the 2021-22 season.
