Women's Golf Opens Play at AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - The UNT women's golf team opened play on Monday at the American Athletic Conference Championship at Southern Hills Plantation Course and will enter Tuesday's second round in sixth place after an opening-round 8-over 296.
The Mean Green are one shot back of FAU and Memphis, who are tied for fourth, and part of a group of teams now chasing leader Tulsa after a first-round 279 put them at 9-under going into Tuesday.
UNT was led by sophomore Katharina Anglett, who shot an opening-round 72 to put her in a tie for 10th at even-par, while junior Mason Lewis was the next-best finisher at 2-over par, which has her in a tie for 22nd.
The Mean Green will be paired on Tuesday with Memphis and FAU and will tee off from the first hole beginning at 7 a.m.
