Softball Lose at No. 23 Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – Mean Green softball fell 6-1 to No. 23 Oklahoma State on Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
UNT (34-17) held the Cowgirls (30-17) scoreless through the first three innings but were unable to capitalize as OSU tallied two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
After a bunt single to open the fifth inning, Tatum Sparks scored her 39th run of the season to tie for the 10th most in single-season program history. Elizabeth Moffitt drove in Sparks with an RBI single for UNT's lone run of the evening.
Wednesday marks only the fourth game in which the Mean Green have scored one or fewer runs this season.
Anneca Anderson (L, 13-5) took the loss after she tossed three scoreless frames to open the game. She allowed four runs on six hits and six walks with two strikeouts. Both Skylar Savage and Gracie Maloney recorded one inning in the circle, each giving up one run.
Center fielder Rylee Nicholson posted the highlight play of the night when she ended the sixth inning with a leaping grab at the wall to rob a potential two-run home run.

The Mean Green meet ECU for its final regular season American Conference series of the season beginning Friday at 4 p.m. CT from Max R. Joyner Family Stadium. The full series will be broadcast on ESPN+.
