
Soccer Wrapping Up East Coast Trip in Newark

DENTON - The UNT soccer team will conclude their first-ever New York metro road trip on Saturday afternoon when the Mean Green take on NJIT at noon in Newark, New Jersey. It will mark the first time in program history that UNT has played a team from New Jersey or a game in New Jersey.
The Mean Green (4-5-0) are coming off a 3-1 loss to Army in West Point, New York, on Thursday night, when UNT opened the scoring in the sixth minute and were tied 1-1 with 10 minutes left in the match before allowing two late goals.
NJIT will enter the match with a 5-2-1 record after a 1-0 win over Lafayette on Thursday night. Saturday's match will mark the end of the Mean Green's non-conference schedule, as they are set to open American play at UTSA on Sept. 18.Â
