Soccer Falls At ULM, 1-0

MONROE, Louisiana – The UNT soccer team lost 1-0 at ULM Sunday afternoon.

The Mean Green (4-4) conceded a 7th-minute goal to the Warhawks'(5-2) Giulia Franco, which was the difference in the 90-mintue match.

North Texas was held to a season low eight shot attempts, six of which came in the second half. The Mean Green battled to the final minute but was unable to score the equalizer. UNT had a couple good looks after giving up the early goal.

"We're not happy with the result but I love the girls fight and how we dominated the second half," said head coach John Hedlund. "They're basically a veteran squad made up of talented international players all over the field that play a very physical style as a group which is why they're around 17 cards at this point. So I knew it would be a battle, we didn't back off and even though we're not happy with the result it's a good learning experience heading into conference."

UNT remains on the road as next up they travel to the east coast and face Army on Sept. 11 and NJIT on Sept. 13 before opening conference also on the road at UTSA on Sept. 18
