Box Score 2026 UNT Match Notes Rice

DENTON - The UNT soccer team is in Houston to take on the Rice Owls, as the Mean Green search for their first American Conference victory on Thursday night at 7 p.m., in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN+.

UNT (4-6-3, 0-3-2) is coming off a 2-0 home loss to FAU, when the Mean Green conceded two late goals, and will take on another set of Owls (4-6-4, 2-3-1).

The Mean Green are 9-5-5 in the all-time series with Rice but have not beaten the Owls since a 6-0 win at home in 2023. The teams played to a draw in Denton a season ago.

UNT is looking to build some positive momentum with five matches remaining in the regular season and after two straight shutout losses to UAB and FAU. Junior forward Claire Niedermeier has nine goals in the team's 13 matches this season but has yet to score in conference play, while sophomore forward Payton Annis has two goals on the year with both having come in conference action.
