- Email:
Cole Trammell was named Director of Business Operations in February 2025, bringing a strong background in athletic administration, procurement, and football operations to the University of North Texas.
Prior to arriving at UNT, Trammell spent two years at the University of Memphis as Assistant Director of Athletic Business and Travel, where he supported the day-to-day business operations of the athletics department. With four years of experience in football operations, he managed team and recruiting travel logistics, oversaw departmental purchasing and invoice processing, and handled travel reconciliations. He also served as the primary liaison between athletics and several campus units, including accounting, procurement, contract services, shared services, and human resources, ensuring efficient communication and operational compliance.
At UNT, Trammell serves on the Mean Green CONNECT Committee, a department-wide initiative focused on recruiting and retaining talented professionals while building morale through engagement, professional development, recognition, and community involvement. He is also actively involved at the national level as a member of the College Athletics Business Management Association (CABMA), where he serves on the Programming Committee and participates in the organization’s Mentor Me Program, supporting professional development, knowledge sharing, and mentorship within the college athletics business community.
A 2022 graduate of Indiana State University, Trammell earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. During his time at ISU, he advanced through multiple roles within the football program, beginning as Assistant Video Coordinator in 2019 and later serving as Assistant Operations Director from 2020 to 2022. In these roles, he coordinated team travel, organized meals, managed the Teamworks platform, and supported daily football operations. Notably, he played a key role during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, collaborating with the registrar’s office to transition team position meetings into larger spaces, a practice that remains in place today.
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Trammell is a 2019 graduate of Snider High School, where he served as a Student Coach and Technology Assistant for the Snider football program. Although he never competed as an athlete himself, his passion for sports was shaped by growing up around hockey and continues to fuel his enthusiasm for athletics. Outside of work, Trammell enjoys attending sporting events and concerts across a wide range of genres.
