A three-year letterman on the track team, Doyle Chrisman ran for Eagle teams that won the Lone Star Conference championship in 1940 and 1941.

He was a member of the distance medley relay and mile relay squads that won the Kansas Relays, and a member of the distance medley relay team that went undefeated in 1939, including a win at the Penn Relays.
