Softball Set for Home Series Against Florida Atlantic

The Mean Green alter series due to weather, open with Thursday doubleheader
DENTON – UNT softball hosts reigning American Conference champions Florida Atlantic for a three-game series at Lovelace Stadium, beginning with a doubleheader Thursday at 3 p.m. with the series finale set for Friday at 5 p.m.

The Mean Green (20-16, 9-3) are tied for first place in the American Conference with South Florida while Florida Atlantic (25-11, 7-5) is tied for third place with Wichita State and UTSA.
North Texas recorded its largest margin of victory in conference play with a 13-3 win over Charlotte on Friday before it dropped the next two games. Friday night's win marked the first double-digit victory in conference play since March 29, 2025, at Tulsa.
The Owls have won its past five games, including a three-game sweep at UTSA last weekend. FAU leads the American in team ERA at 2.98 while it leads the league in scoring at 6.14 runs per game.
Dating back to 2022, UNT have won 10 of its past 13 games against Florida Atlantic and have not lost a series since 2011. Last season, the Mean Green won two of three games against the then-No. 25 Owls in Boca Raton before it upset FAU in the semifinals of the American Conference Championship with a 1-0 victory.
In the semifinals win, Anneca Anderson threw a seven-inning complete game shutout while a fielding error by Florida Atlantic led to the game's lone run. Anderson recorded two complete game shutouts against the Owls last season.
