DENVER, CO (10/4/02) - The North Texas soccer team had their four-game winning streak snapped against the 20th ranked team in the country, the Denver Pioneers, 6-1 at Pioneer Field. North Texas also had their three-game road winning streak snapped with the loss.
The Mean Green (8-2, 2-1) trailed early to the Pioneers (7-1-2, 3-0), 3-0 in the first 20 minutes of the game and were never able to recover. The Mean Green's lone goal on the night came from senior midfielder Michelle Uselton. Marilyn Marin also extended her point streak to seven games with the assist on Uselton's goal. North Texas has now lost two straight games to the Pioneers, including last year's Sun Belt Conference Championship.
North Texas concludes their four-game road trip on Sunday afternoon with a non-conference game against the Wyoming Cowboys.
