Mean Green Wins Season Opener Against Nicholls State

DENTON, TX (8/31/02) - North Texas soccer team began the 2002 regular season with an impressive seven to one victory over Nicholls State. The Mean Green played aggressively as they took 20 shots on goal. Senior forward Michelle Uselton lead the attack by scoring two goals and adding an assist. Sophomore forward Krista Georgas, freshman defender Jessica Hennessey, sophomore forward Melinda Pina, freshman forward Michelle Partain, and sophomore midfielder Alyssa Carter all scored a goal. Freshman defender Ashleigh Allison provided an assist. Nicholls State added it's lone goal in the 54th minute on a header by sophomore forward Kim Robinson.
The Mean Green's next game is September 1st against Duquesne at the Mean Green Soccer Complex on the corner of Airport Rd. and Precision. The game kicks-off at noon.
