Marin Named Sun Belt Conference Player Of The Week

DENTON - North Texas junior forward Marilyn Marin has been named the Sun Belt Conference Soccer Player of the Week.
Marin, who leads the Sun Belt Conference in goals with nine, scored two goals and had two assists in a 4-2 win over Southwest Texas State last Wednesday. Marin added an assist against Tulsa (a 3-0 North Texas win) on Sunday to extend her point streak to four straight games.
Marin leads the Sun Belt in four different offensive categories and has 24 points for the year. She ranks fourth nationally in points per game and she is seventh in the nation in goals per game. This is the third time in her career that Marin has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.
Marin's performance helped lead North Texas to their second straight win and a league high sixth win of the year. The Mean Green begin a four-game road trip on Friday September 27 against Arkansas State.
