Soccer and Volleyball Teams In Action This Weekend

North Texas soccer returns home for two games with Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. The Mean Green hosts the Toppers on Friday night and then faces the Lady Raiders on Sunday at 1 p.m. North Texas has the series edge over Western Kentucky 2-1-1, but Western Kentucky is the only Sun Belt Conference team to ever beat North Texas at home. The Lady Toppers beat the Mean Green 3-2 in 2002. North Texas is 5-1 against Middle Tennessee and has won the last meeting in Denton 6-0 in 2002.
With one more victory, the Mean Green soccer team will have won 10 games for the 10th consecutive year. The Mean Green has never had a losing season and with one more victory this year North Texas will guarantee itself of its 10th straight winning season.
North Texas volleyball (4-14, 3-3 Sun Belt) played back-to-back home matches last week for the first time this season, splitting with South Alabama and New Orleans. NT then lost a non-conference matchup on Wednesday night against Stephen F. Austin, 3-0. The Mean Green brought its record at the Snake Pit to 3-1 this season and will play six of its final 11 regular-season matches at home.
