Lee Named Sun Belt Conference Tennis Player Of The Week

DENTON (4/21/04) North Texas junior Krysta Lee was named the Sun Belt Conference Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday after posting a 2-1 record in flight one last week, including victories over 97th ranked Monika Peciulionyte and Cecilia Poveda of Arkansas-Little Rock.
Lee also went 2-1 in her flight one doubles matches and helped lead the Mean Green to victories over Arkansas-Little Rock and Tarleton State . NT improved to 14-9 and its 14 wins tie the program’s most single-season victories in the last 18 years.
Lee picked up her 14th singles victory, including her 11th in flight one, in NT’s regular-season finale against the Trojans. Her 11 wins tie the 12th most single-season victories in the top flight by a North Texas player in the program’s 26-year history.
Lee paired up with Katherine Harris to win their 14th doubles match, which are the most on the team this year and the fourth most in school history by a flight-one duo.
North Texas begins play in the Sun Belt Conference Championships Friday, April 23.
