Magalhaes Named SBC Soccer Player Of The Week

DENTON (9/21/04) - North Texas senior midfielder Richelle Magalhaes was named the Sun Belt Conference Soccer Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal to lift the Mean Green to a 2-1 victory over the Baylor Bears on Friday night.
Magalhaes scored the game-winning with just four minutes remaining as she lofted a shot from 30 yards away that found the back of the net.
The goal was the first of the season for Magalhaes along with being the first game-winning goal of her career. Magalhaes now has four goals for her career and the goal also gave North Texas its first ever win over Baylor in soccer.
The Mean Green return to action on Friday, September 24 at home against No. 17 SMU at 7 p.m.
