Thomas Named to Freshman All-America Team

(01-05-05) - North Texas freshman running back Jamario Thomas was selected to the Football Writers Association of America Scripps Freshman All-America team.
Thomas led the nation with 180.1 rushing yards per game and helped the Mean Green capture its fourth consecutive conference crown.
With 1,801 rushing yards on the season, Thomas shattered
Thomas set the NCAA freshman record for 200 yards games, going over that mark five times, and tied the NCAA record for the fastest to reach 1,000 yards when he made it in seven games.
He is one of only three freshmen ever to rush for over 1,700 yards and the only back in the nation this season to have six 200-yard games.
Aside from Thomas, the Sun Belt landed two other players on the Freshman All-America team, tying the Big XII with three selections.
