DENTON (1/7/05) North Texas senior defender Caree Ridenour was named to the third team All-Central Region soccer team by Soccer Buzz Magazine. Ridenour’s selection marks the eighth straight season that North Texas has had a player selected to the all-region team.

Ridenour was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection this season for the first time in her career after scoring a career-high three goals and notching seven points.

Ridenour anchored the North Texas defense that had a school record 11 shutouts in leading the Mean Green to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

Ridenour finished her career at North Texas with five goals, eight assists, and 18 points. Along with being named to the All-Central Region team, Ridenour was also named to the first team all-conference this year and the 2003 Sun Belt Conference Tournament team.
