Jackson Qualifies For U.S. Open Sectional

TROPHY CLUB (5/24/05) North Texas men’s head golf coach Jim Bob Jackson shot a 4-under par 68 in a U.S. Open local qualifier at Trophy Club Country Club to earn a spot in the sectional qualifier. Jackson finished tied for sixth place to earn an automatic place in the sectional qualifier.

“I played really well out there,” Jackson said. “I do this every year to try and stay competitive and I’ve really been playing well these last few months. I have been practicing well and it all came together for me out there”.

Jackson will now move onto the U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier at the TPC at Craig Ranch in McKinney on June 6.

The top five golfers after the 36 holes of competition on June 6 will advance to the U.S. Open Golf Championship at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club on June 16-19.
