The Mean Green trailed 1-0 heading into the second half, but evened things up in the 54th minute of play. Juett slipped behind the Blue Raider defense and was fouled in the box setting up a penalty kick. Kelli Lunsford converted the penalty kick and tied the game up at 1-1.
Middle Tennessee responded with the next two goals, first in the 56th minute as Kala Morgan deflected a pass from Holly Grogan past Ellis. Grogan then scored to make it 3-1 in the 64th minute of play.
The Mean Green had one last flurry in the final 12 minutes of play, but could not get the game-tying goal.
