“I’m very pleased with how hard the girls raced,” said head coach Joe Dykstra. “We have done our hardest training of year these past few weeks. The girls swam solid times for being that fatigued. This is a real step in right direction.
Gwen Rourke finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:56.67, dropping 2.47 seconds from her previous time of 1:59.04.
Diver Bailey Devine notched a time of 222.15 in three-meter diving.
The Mean Green was short-staffed during the meet as Hannah Bakke, who holds the school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, was absent for personal reasons.
“We were a little short-handed,” said Dykstra, “but after some rest, by the end of the year this team will be accomplishing great things.”
