NORTH TEXAS POSTGAME NOTES vs. MIDDLE TENNESSEE, Feb. 9, 2006
- Jeffrey Simpson had 7 blocked shots to become the first player in NT history to surpass 100 blocks for a career. He now has 103 in his two-year NT career.
- Simpson has now blocked five or more shots five times in his NT career, the most times a player has accomplished this in school history.
- Simpson has had multiple blocked shots in 7 of the last 9 games.
- Calvin Watson connected on four three-point FGs to run his career total to 102 and move into the No. 9 spot on the school’s individual career list.
- Watson has hit multiple three-pointers in 6 games this season.
- Watson, with 16 points, scored in double figures for the 5th time this season and the 30th time in his career.
- Tonight is just the 2nd time this season for Watson to lead NT in scoring.
- Isaac Hines had 2 steals and now has 102 for his career, moving into a tie for No. 7 on the school’s all-time list.
- NT’s 11 blocked shots ties a school record set earlier this season against
- Simpson, with 13 points, scored in double figures for the 11th time this season and the 21st time in his two seasons at NT.
- This was Middle Tennessee’s first win in 3 games at the Super Pit since the series started in 2000-01.
