Mean Green Tennis Shutout At No. 51 Florida International

MIAMI, Fla. (3/12/06) The North Texas women’s tennis team (4-10) suffered a 7-0 setback against No. 51 Florida International on Sunday in its first of three matches over three days in the state of Florida.

The Golden Panthers were the third nationally ranked team that North Texas has faced this season and also the third Sun Belt Conference opponent for the Mean Green this year.

FIU won five of the six singles flights in straight sets, while NT’s Sammie Moreton pushed her flight-three match to the limit before falling. The Golden Panthers swept the Mean Green in doubles competition.
