Mean Green Close Out Play At Wyoming Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (4/11/06) In a tightly contested final round, the North Texas men’s golf team fired a 296 and finished in ninth place at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic from the Talking Stick Golf Club.
The Mean Green shot a season-low three-round score of 855 and was only nine shots from a top-three finish in the field of 21 teams.
Sophomore Austin Welch paced the Mean Green with a final round of 1-over par 71 and finished tied for 11th place at 1-over par 211 for the tournament. Raul Lemus and Ben Smock fired final rounds of 3-over par 73.
Lemus ended in a tie for 25th place with a score of 213 while Smock was one shot behind at 214.
Andreas Kali and Anthony Broussard shot third-round scores of 75. Kali had a tournament score of 219 while Broussard was two-shots behind at 221.
