Tennis Falls To Sam Houston State

Huntsville, TX (02-10-07) The North Texas Tennis team fell 5-2 against Sam Houston at McAdams tennis courts.
"This was by far best match as far as singles," said head coach Sujay Lama. "It was very competitive and the girls played very well. It was great to see Idalina and Megan break through and win. The kids earned the respect of their opponents today."
Megan Schmulbach, the team’s only senior, earned her first singles win of the season as she defeated Lata Assudani 6-3, 6-4 in no. 2 singles today.
Idalina Franca also had her first win against Brooke Mills 6-1, 6-5 in no.3 singles.
Newcomer Emi Itabashi won her first set of the season today, but was ultimately overcome by Ashley Longoria 4-6, 6-0, 6-0.
The team hits the courts again next weekend as they take on UT-Arlington on Fri, Feb 16, and Texas State on Sat, Feb 17 at Warranch Tennis Complex.
