North Texas Tennis Travels To Houston

Denton, TX (02/09/2007) The North Texas tennis team travels this weekend to take on the University of Houston on Friday, Feb. 9, and Sam Houston State University on Saturday, Feb. 10.

“We face two good teams this weekend,” said head coach Sujay Lama. “Overall, I was pleased with our effort last weekend. What I would like to see is for our top three players to close out sets and matches. They are playing very well and it would do wonders for their confidence to pull out some wins. We'll definitely give a 100 percent effort against Houston and Sam Houston State. We hope to improve with both matches.”

The team defeated Sam Houston State University last season, and the North Texas No. 1 doubles team swept the competition at the Houston Quad Tournament during the fall 2006 season.
