NT Tennis To Host ULM In Conference Action Friday

DENTON, Texas (3/27/08) The Mean Green Tennis team picks up action Friday afternoon against conference foe Louisiana Monroe at the Waranch Tennis Complex.

North Texas (9-7) heads into this match coming off a win against Marquette last Sunday. The Mean Green are also looking to improve their Sun Belt Conference record. Right now they are 3-2 in conference play, and the Warhawk’s are 1-1. So far this season they have not faced a common conference opponent.

“So far this season we have not been able to put it all together in an entire match,” said head tennis coach Sujay Lama. “We want to use this match to help gain some confidence heading into the conference tournament.”

Freshman Madura Ranganathan was named the Sun Belt Tennis Player of the Week after going 3-0 last week in singles play and knocking off her second ranked opponent. Ranganathan is a team-best 3-1 against opponents from the Sun Belt Conference this year and will look to improve that mark versus ULM.
