Mean Green Tennis Earns No. 13 Regional Ranking

DENTON, Texas (6/3/08)- The North Texas tennis team earned a No. 13 final ranking in the Southwest Region after a standout 2007-08 season.

Freshman Madura Ranganathan also received a ranking after her contributions this past season. She finished tied at No. 30 in singles competition with Sarah Lancaster of Texas. Madura finished with a 13-9 overall record. She defeated two ranked opponents and earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors.

“We are very proud of the improvement the ladies made this year, but this is just the beginning of bigger things to come for North Texas tennis,” head coach Sujay Lama said.

The Mean Green finished with a 13-9 record this past season after a 2-19 campaign the year before. North Texas posted its best winning percentage (59.1) since the 1986-87 season.
