LUBBOCK, Texas (8/18/08) The North Texas soccer team began the 2008 campaign by playing Texas Tech to a 0-0 draw in an exhibition game at the new John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock.

Both teams had opportunities in front of the goal but both goal keepers came up big when a save was needed to be made. Texas Tech had 13 shots and four corner kicks while the Mean Green had nine shots and three corner kicks.

“Considering we had only a few practices under our belt this was a good result,” North Texas head coach John Hedlund said. “Texas Tech is one of the better teams in the Big 12 conference and I thought several of our players showed very well throughout the game.”
