LAS CRUCES, N.M.- Dawn Richerson and Rosa Gentile won events against Boise State and New Mexico, as North Texas fell to Boise State 177-66 and to New Mexico State 160-83.
"I was very pleased with how our team responded today," said North Texas Head Coach Joe Dykstra. "We were more competitive today. The conditions were very tough, being at altitude, swimming outside in windy conditions. We will learn from this and this will improve our team."
Dawn Richerson won the 1,000 yard freestyle with a North Texas season-best time of 10:27.28 (10:33.58 raw).
Rosa Gentile won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.50, edging Stevie Hughey of Boise State. Gentile also set a season-best with a 57.18 in the 100-yard Butterfly.
