Three Divers Participate in NCAA Zone Meet

Three North Texas divers will compete in the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships, in Austin, Texas this weekend. Mary Beth Geeze, Delia Covo and Catherine Johnson will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championship Meet, held from March 17-19 in Austin. North Texas has had a banner year in diving, as only one North Texas diver, Melissa Whitaker, who qualified in 2001 and 2003, had ever qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Meet. There are 46 total divers in the meet, and the top 11 will be selected to compete in the NCAA Championships. These championships include participants from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota.
