Tennis Set for Showdown with No. 25 OU

DENTON, Texas - The North Texas women's tennis will travel to No. 25 Oklahoma for a showdown with the Sooners Tuesday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
The Mean Green (1-0) is coming off a season opening victory over Lamar and looking for its second victory over a ranked opponent all-time. (Defeated No. 73 Texas Tech 5-2 on Feb. 6, 2010)
Week One Match Notes (Lamar, No. 25 OU) | Live Scoring
Senior Nadia Lee and junior Ilona Serchenko led North Texas past Lamar with both individuals recording dominating victories.
Lee, who also teamed with freshman Franziska Sprinkmeyer for a doubles victory, won 6-1, 6-1 from the No. 3 slot while Serchenko emerged 6-0, 6-2 from the No. 5 singles spot.
Freshman Kseniya Bardabush clinched the victory for the Mean Green in her first collegiate dual match when she defeated Natalia Mayagoitia 6-4, 6-2.
North Texas captured all three doubles matches against Lamar as well, extending its record in doubles to a 40-13 overall mark through the fall season and the first dual match.
Play is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from the Headington Family Tennis Center. In the event of inclement weather, the teams will move into the Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion next door.
