No. 64 North Texas Dominates Louisville, 4-0

DENTON, Texas - No. 64 Mean Green tennis won its third straight match on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Louisville Cardinals, 4-0, at the Waranch Tennis Complex.
After nearly a three hour delay from the scheduled start time due to rain, North Texas (11-5) picked up where it left off on Friday, dominating play early on.
"We played outstanding tennis today," said head coach Sujay Lama. "Everyone stepped up and battled. In big points, we were able to raise our level. That is sign of a team that is playing with confidence."
Senior Paula Dinuta jumped out to an early lead in her match with a 6-1 first set victory. The second set was a little more of a struggle, but she owned the third set to take the match 6-1, 1-6, 6-0.
Ilona Serchenko was able to bounce back from her loss on Friday, grabbing a convincing straight set victory on court four, 6-3, 6-2.
Another senior, Irina Paraschiv, gave the Mean Green a 3-0 lead on the Cardinals (5-7) when she bettered UL's Manuela Velasquez, 6-4, 7-5.
Barbora Vykydalova, playing in her first singles match since Feb. 24, sealed the win for North Texas on court six with a 6-1, 7-5 victory.
"It felt great to be able to finish my match and get the win for our team," said Vykydalova. "I finished strong just like the rest of the team and it felt good to get the win."
The two matches remaining on the court after Vykydalova's win were called off.
Freshman Kseniya Bardabush was tied with the Cardinals Julia Fellerhoff in the decisive third set, while Nadia Lee and Louisville's Rebecca Shine were also tied in the final set.
The coaches elected to play singles before doubles on Sunday.
North Texas will be back in action on Saturday, March 17 when it travels to Wichita, Kansas, for a showdown with Wichita State.
