Green Gang Blog in Hot Springs: Friday

7:58 a.m.- The North Texas travel party is on the road to Hot Springs for the Sun Belt Conference Basketball Championships! The Green Gang will be there every step of the way to provide behind the scenes updates and interviews. Stephen Howard is accompanying the men's team and David Waxman is with the women's team while Steven Bartolotta and Ryan Kasmiersky will be traveling with the rest of the North Texas Athletics staff. Make sure you're following the Green Gang on Facebook and Twitter for constant updates from the trip. We'll be back on the live blog when we reach Hot Springs and Summit Arena!
3:13 p.m.- The Mean Green has arrived in Hot Springs! The first of the staff and sprit squads are checked into their rooms at the team hotel and are getting settled and ready for tonights events. The schedule for tonight features the Sun Belt Pep Band Spectacular to kick-off the tournament which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Hill Wheatley Plaza. From there, North Texas fans are encouraged to join the MGRN and both Johnny Jones and Karen Aston for the final North Texas Coaches Show at Lucky's at 8 p.m.. Fans at home can catch that KNTU 88.1.
10:15 p.m.- We grabbed some great video footage this evening at the Sun Belt Pep Band Sepectacular, and we will share that with you throughout the week. I can report that new SBC Comissioner Karl Benso is in Hot Springs for this weekend's activities. Other than that, we'll see you guys in the morning for our first full day in Hot Springs!
