North Texas Tennis Earns All-Academic Honors

The North Texas tennis team received all-academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for 2012-13 with a cumulative GPA of 3.51.
Six members of the 2012-13 Mean Green were honored: juniors Kseniia Baradabush and Franziska Sprinkmeyer, sophomores Danae Joubert and Augstina Valenzuela, and former teammates Emelia Box and Ilona Serchenko.
To qualify for ITA all-academics, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. For individuals, a student athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and have been enrolled in their current school for at least two semesters, along with being a varsity letter winner.
“Our tennis team is a highly gifted and special group of student athletes” said David Bekker, assistant director - student service. “They consistently surpass even our highest academic expectations.”
Mean Green tennis has received the ITA all-academic honor six out of the last seven years.
