Mean Green Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

DENTON - Following a record-breaking season and a conference championship, John Hedlund and the North Texas soccer team have announced their spring schedule, which features four home games and a two-game tournament at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.
"This schedule gives us eight games this spring, if you include the Alumni Game being played during Hall of Fame Weekend (April 17-18)," said North Texas head coach John Hedlund. "Now I have the option of really looking at several different systems along with players receiving plenty of playing time, which should help us next fall."
The Mean Green opens its spring schedule at the FC Dallas Tournament at the Toyota Soccer Center on March 7. North Texas will play Tulsa and McNeese State in Frisco.
North Texas will then host four games at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium against Arkansas (April 4), Tyler College (April 4), Midwestern (April 11) and TWU (April 16). The Mean Green will also play an Alumni Game on April 18.
The Mean Green lost just two seniors from the 2014 team and returns all but one starter for the upcoming 2015 fall season.
Goalkeeper Jackie Kerestine will be back in the net for the Mean Green after being awarded a fifth year of eligibility from Conference USA. Kerestine was named second-team all-region and second-team all-conference in 2014 after leading C-USA in shutouts (14), goals against average (0.51) and save percentage (.902).
Kerestine is joined by all-region player Karla Pineda and all-conference player Rachel Holden.
