Name: Abbie Imes
Class: Senior
Event: Sprint Free, Fly
Hometown: Edmond, Okla.
Q: How does Denton differ from your hometown?
A: I like the Denton community. Edmond wasn't as close knit as Denton is.
Q: Who or what got you into the sport?
A: My mom thought that putting me in neighborhood swimming would be a good way for me to make some friends. Plus I was chubby.
Q: What is your favorite event to compete in?
A: 50 free. It's all about the power!
Q: What event do you hope to never compete in?
A: 200 breast...no one has time to watch that
Q: What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming season?
A: I just want to have a fun, successful season and watch how much the team grows.
Q: What is your favorite sport to watch during the Olympics?
A: Swimming...we're the best
Q: Who is your team family?
A: I literally can't remember what family I am a part of…
Q: Do you have a hidden (or not so hidden) talent?
A: I can body roll.
Q: If you could trade places with one person, who would it be and why?
A: 2002 Avril Lavigne… it's complicated.
Q: As a senior, what will you miss most about the team?
A: I'll miss the priceless memories when things go wrong, they make the best stories. And most of all, my girls.
