Phillips Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

IRVING — For the first time in her collegiate career, Mean Green soccer defender Tori Phillips has been named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week.
The senior from Forney, Texas, helped the Mean Green to back-to-back shutouts on Thursday and Sunday and took seven shots over those two matches. She also assisted on a goal in North Texas' 8-0 win over Mid-America Christian University on Thursday.
Six of North Texas' seven wins this year have come in the shutout fashion.
The Mean Green return to the Mean Green Soccer Complex on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff versus UTEP.
