DENTON - The Mean Green soccer program will hold a free youth clinic on Saturday, April 22, at 2:30 p.m. The team's annual alumni game will follow at 4 p.m.
The youth clinic is open to boys and girls of all ages. It is an instructional skill clinic coached by the North Texas soccer staff and current and former players.
"The alumni game has always been a competitive game and fun tradition," said North Texas assistant coach Fleur Benatar. "The idea behind the youth clinic was to be able to bring it all together on one day with as many players and alumni working together. We have former players coaching and former players with kids that are playing competitive soccer so why not make it a fun family soccer day and let them be a part of the Mean Green soccer spirit and tradition."
Youth participants are asked to bring a soccer ball. The clinic will run for approximately an hour at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium.
The Mean Green soccer team is in the middle of its spring season. North Texas plays Midwestern State on Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m., at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium. The Mean Green will also play Navarro JC on April 15, at 1 p.m. and cap the season with the alumni game on the 22.
