Mean Green To Face Five In-State Foes In Dual Meet Action
DENTON - North Texas swimming & diving head coach Brittany Roth announced the 2018-19 schedule, which includes a trio of exhibition and dual events at the Pohl Recreation Center.
The Mean Green begin the season at home with the annual North Texas Relays on Sept. 28, and open the regular season on the road against Little Rock on Oct. 6. North Texas will take on in-state foes SMU and Houston in a double dual meet on Oct. 20 in Dallas.
After the program hosts its annual alumni meet and Green vs. White intrasquad meet on Oct. 27, the team will split up from Nov. 16-18 as the swimmers compete in the Kansas Classic in Topeka, Kan., and the divers head to the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston.
The Mean Green seek a fourth-straight dual meet victory over metroplex rival TCU as they close out the fall season with a dual meet against the Horned Frogs on Dec. 8 in Fort Worth. North Texas will celebrate Senior Night against Rice on Jan. 11 and conclude dual-meet action with a double dual meet against Incarnate Word and Old Dominion on Jan. 26 in San Antonio.
The 2019 Conference USA Championships will be held Feb. 27-March 2 in Atlanta, and the NCAA Championships will run March 20-23 in Austin.
Roth is set to begin her third season with the Mean Green after guiding the team to their third-straight fourth-place finish at the C-USA Championships. North Texas placed second at the Kansas Classic, behind Kansas and ahead of Iowa State, and claimed dual-meet wins over Little Rock, Incarnate Word and TCU.
